Lisa has achieved certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine and American Council on Exercise as well as completing undergraduate courses in physiology and cadaver-based anatomy. She has been a student of the Pilates method since 1995 and has studied in the following lineages: Balanced Body, The Method and Stott and is a level II Reiki practitioner. She has also completed additional training in nutrition for advanced performance and health through ACSM.
Lisa encourages her clients to see movement and sport as an analogy for life. She has worked with company ballet dancers, competitive ice skaters & equestrians, martial artists and fencers as well as in post-rehabilitative settings. Introduced to the work of Joseph H. Pilates in 1994, she praises the method for its demand of mental and physical focus as well as the length and strength it brings to bodies.
Lisa offers mat & apparatus training in her private home studio, travels onsite & to client homes as well as offers an online accountability component for those needing a resource partner for weight control. she trains clients in techniques designed to enhance their functional fitness and reach their athletic and body composition goals.
Her competitive athletic & coaching history includes: road races to 1/2 marathon distances; trail & obstacle races, dressage, fencing, swimming and she enjoys cycling and strength training.
Lisa's undergraduate degree is in communications and her graduate work is in the area of leadership, specifically human performance. She is passionate about facilitating personal goal setting and supporting its successful attainment.
